Newcomer Andrew Palmer Headlines Three-Car Lineup in Fourth Round of Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series; Rookie Takes Pole in Debut

Continuing a three-car lineup during this weekend’s fourth round, Global Motorsports Group (GMG) and the entire Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series head to this weekend’s Oak Tree Grand Prix in pursuit of more series hardware.

Having achieved podium results during each weekend they’ve competed in, the team will look to continue the trend at the scenic venue.

Debuting for the team will be karting stand-out Andrew Palmer. Originally from Chicago, Palmer is actually making his racing debut in a full-sized car; however he is no stranger to competitive racing. Hailing from the prestigious Rotax karting ranks, the 19-year-old has one National title in 2010, as well as multiple podiums in numerous national and international events. Driving the No. 14 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4, the Pomona College student is excited to show his potential.

Making an instant splash on the scene, Palmer took pole position this morning, outpacing veteran drivers Justin Bell and Kevin Conway.

“It is very exciting to debut in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series with GMG Racing and Lamborghini of Beverly Hills,” stated Palmer. “The Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo is awesome to drive and very fast, and the team at GMG have prepped the car beautifully. I was able to get up to speed quickly today and look forward to the racing action this weekend.”

Not to be outdone, season-long entrants Tom O’Gara and Parris Mullins will return to the fold this weekend as well. Driving the No. 69 Lamborghini Beverly Hills / O’Gara Coach Company machine, the duo look to add additional trophies to their mantle.

“VIR is one of those scenic tracks that everyone wants to visit,” stated the Californian. “It’s a classic track with a lot of elevation and unique corners, and I’m happy to finally come here. Hopefully Parris and I can come home with more trophies!”

Finally, Bruce Jenner will return for his second weekend of competition in the series, this time being joined by another member of the prodigious family, Brandon Jenner. Replacing his brother Burt, the father-son duo will continue in the No. 33 Forgiato Wheels vehicle.

“It’s exciting to finally be a part of this series,” stated Brandon. “Burt really enjoyed his experience in Kansas, and I’m excited to take my shot at it in Virginia. It’s a famous track and one we all hope to show well at.”
