GMG Porsche Wins at 48 Hours of Sebring
The GMG Racing Porsche GT3 World Challenge Cup Car turned in a stellar performance at the 2012 48 Hours of Sebring. The car piloted by James Sofronas, President of Global Motorsports Group (GMG), dominated the sprint race with a first place finish after scoring the fastest lap and a pole position start.
“Our GMG Porsche ran great, not one problem all weekend as the guys, once again, did a terrific job with the car prep,” noted Sofronas. “We also had the WC Spec Pirelli slicks on our car which was clearly an advantage over some of the other Cups with Yokohama’s and Michelins as we ran fast lap during the race after qualifying on the pole.”
The 48 Hours of Sebring is the most exciting PCA Club Race in North America and is held over four days at the historic Sebring International Raceway. 350 to 400 Porsche drivers participate in a range of events and races. The 2012 event was the 19th in its history and ran from February 2-5. It attracts top drivers and teams including finishers from the recent 24 at Daytona. The victory immediately follows Global Motorsports Group successfully completing the 2012 24 at Daytona.
“The 48 Hours of Sebring is a great event each year for GMG to get the ball rolling on the racing season,” added Sofronas. “It’s a great mix of top Porsche drivers coming together in the true spirit of Porsche racing.“
GMG is North America’s premier Porsche tuner located in Southern California and specializes in Porsche performance tuning for road cars and is also one of the top Professional teams racing Porsche cars in North America. For more information, visit www.GMGracing.com.
